Tributes have been paid to vocalist Trella Hart, whose voice became one of the most distinctive sounds in 1960s and 1970s radio jingles.
Trella passed away on the morning of 4 July.
She first moved to Dallas in 1966, where she signed an exclusive contract with PAMS Productions – the legendary jingle company that defined the sound of Top 40 radio during its golden era.
Her voice featured prominently on the PAMS “Swiszle” and “Fun Vibrations” packages, both of which became staples for stations across the United States and internationally. In addition to these landmark collections, Trella recorded countless custom jingles and commercials, instantly recognisable for her bright tone and joyful delivery.
Her talents later led her to collaborate with other producers, including JAM Creative Productions, where she continued to contribute to the evolving sound of radio imaging. Outside the studio, Trella loved performing jazz standards in clubs and venues, showcasing the same energy and warmth that endeared her to the radio community.
JAM and PAMS founder Jon Wolfert said: “Trella will be missed not only for her musical talent, but as a warm and fun person who was a delight to listen to, work with, and be with.”
