I love the Steve Wright stuff, I think AJ has done a great job. I have been looking for these for a while then I find out that he's put them on his S/C account.

This is my favourite;

There's recent resings of 'Ignite KIIS' for Sun FM, WTFM and WLTB. Plus The Bay (Ignite Now) and 'The Jack Pack' has been added on the TM section.

Plus there is this really nice clip of one of TM's 'Ignite KIIS' sessions...

Haven't been on here for ages so do excuse me.

I hate doing this type of thing and I'm sure I'm not going to be popular but I need your help.

I am a fan of TFM but have never really done much about collecting the jingles, until now.

I know the right thing to do is swap but it makes things difficult when I've got nothing and I'm only interested in TFM.

Can any of you lovely people help out at all? I hate asking and I feel really quite ashamed to ask.

My ask has come about before (if it happens) TFM disappears altogether. I've listened for years and grown up with TFM and the jingles bring back memories. Be assured that they won't be circulated anywhere else.

Thanks all,

Just listen to these cuts they just produced for German market leader Bayern 1 in Bavaria:

These cuts were very well written, sung and mixed. The musicality is great, like the variety in the cuts. Meanwhile they keep the same style to communicate and promote the station.

At my station we use BRANDY too, and I love playing those cuts. I seems European jingle companies put more effort in the music instead of making money. But that is just an impression I get from comparing these jingles with e.g. Reelworld One AC.

What do you think?]]>

Sadly, "today's radio" has only TWO seasons in the year - the "12 WEEKS of Christmas" with the same tired worn out old guff, and the other 40 weeks of stale "recurrents" as I believe "Brown Eyed Girl" and "Happy" are known "in the trade".

Stations used to have "seasons" jingles - browse through many an Alfasound custom and there's variants for Spring/Summer/Autumn/Winter. As well as "seasons" cuts within packages, PAMS and TM did e.g. entire "summer" bundles as "top-ups" for stations (try WNBC TM Summer Six-Pack, or WPDQ Series 37), or KQWB's PAMS Series 34 "Winter Wonderland".

Something else now "lost" from the once-rich texture of "the excitement on the air"?]]>
News jingles help please Sat, 25 Oct 2014 02:08:14 +0100 Kiwifm 10168@/index.php?p=/discussions They are from the mid-1980s.
Someone suggested to me they were from 'PMS' - but I can't find anything out about PMS.
I queried whether they meant PAMS, but they definitely meant PMS.
This of course could be a red herring, so any assistance with the name or source of these would be really appreciated.
The jingles from each piece are all from the same package, with slight variations on a couple.

Since Pete 'teased' us with his amazing re-sing I'll work backwards here and for the first cut post just a solo - it might be from the front, middle or end of the cut - only clue it's an old PAMS! Which package, and who sang this originally? Let's limit guesses to under 55s as it might be easy for over 55s !? :-)]]>

It's very difficult to fit 36 years of jingle history into one I've tried to use some material that haven't been used before, plus add some scoped aircheck audio (courtesy of in most cases) to give everyone a slight flavour of how Beacon sounded.

So fill yer boots...

BBC Radio 1 Autumn "Jingles" Fri, 07 Nov 2014 11:31:09 +0000 mb 10179@/index.php?p=/discussions

OK I'm old School but isn't this the same old style Radio 1 have had for nearly twenty years now?
Before I get heckled I'm not demanding a return to classic 1976 JAM jingles but listening to the other work by pure and other contemporary companies Radio 1 is so safe and pedestrian in its imaging.
Its not a criticism of Pure as this sound very on brief and what the client must have dictated but their other European work is far more creative and interesting.

For me there's nothing stand out it's functional and identifies the station. no heart, soul, vision or oomph.

How should Radio 1sound?

Great Contemporary Jingles Fri, 07 Nov 2014 12:18:02 +0000 mb 10180@/index.php?p=/discussions Whilst on Holiday I was listening to the Wise Buddah catalogue and a lot of the packages really grow on me.
I've enclosed a montage of some of the cuts I really love - for me they do everything a great jingles should be. I love that the tracks have a great beat and are punchy.
for me they are the most exciting material at the moment and the one I play over and over.
The little touches like the Duran Duran cut. I also have a preference for these vocals over Reelworld or IQ Beats.
Obviously the Radio 2 cuts allow more room using the orchestra but their packages make a big difference to the on air sound of stations. it really lifted Mix 96 in Aylesbury. The 2014 GEM106 cuts which have not received much coverage on here ( other than a mention by Len ) are really nice. Yes it would be nice to have more variety in the lyrics ( in lyric choice not that term :) ) and more cuts but I prefer them to the new Heart package.
Paul and the team at Wise Buddah are creating some really nice material.
So these cuts are some of the ones I really like.
