They are on 93.5 despite what that jingle says, it sounds like 90.5

I have no idea who made the jingles and that famous news intro that everyone knows and fears. ( if you ever took IRN they were supposed to leave a clear gap but often didn't ).

Just thought it would be nice to post something new as I don't think its been on here before and have something new to discuss.

"Monster Radio AM 1150" Sat, 16 Aug 2014 07:35:43 +0100 Walkerbroadcasting 10099@/index.php?p=/discussions
The station got the "Miami's Oldies WMXJ" package from TM Century when they were "positive & Family Friend, AM 1150" doing southern gospel. They dropped the "Positive & Family Friendly" positioner in the jingles when they went to news/talk/country and news/talk/classic hits.

They simple used the other mix outs without that part sung in it. They would use a sung legal id "WGGH Marion" at the top of every hour 24 hours a day 7 days a week. THey would use quick stab jingles "WGGH"... "AM 1150"... and WGGH AM 1150" during music hours.

The station still uses the sung legal id jingle even now as a 24 hour 7 day a week news/talk station

I thought you'd all like the story behind the jingles.. I should know, I worked there for 2 years as a Producer & Operations Assistant]]>

Radio 1 Memories Sun, 03 Jun 2012 09:48:03 +0100 Ian 8869@/index.php?p=/discussions I have been fairly absent for the last four years due to a new (at the time) very demanding job, and some personal issues such as the passing of my mum.
I have continued to dip in and out of Jinglemad but certainly have not been the active contributor that I had been in the past.
About a year ago my pc crashed and although I have managed to recover all of the audio, it has renamed everything file 001 up to file 5798.
I am currently in the process of sorting through it and re-naming each individual file and thought why not upload as I find little gems and old memories.
So this topic is really open to anyone who wishes to post some old airchecks, trailers, memories, jingles or whatever really in relation to the radio 1 of yesterday.

Needless to say I love the final result and I think a follow-up email to Jon ordering an additional cut or two might follow soon! ;)

Hope you like them!]]>

From a "variety of sources", may I offer a very small scratch of the surface of the classic instrumental radio production work of David Arnold. A Master of his craft. "BIG Sound" yet in all kinds of textures and tempos.

Various UK station logos from a different and perhaps gentler radio era than today will "ring a bell" or two, from Essex (!) to the West Country.
The "appropriate lyrics" and station names can be added/sung within the privacy of your own heads :)

Jinglemad Jingle Day 2014 Wed, 09 Apr 2014 00:32:36 +0100 Prometheus 9932@/index.php?p=/discussions
Here are the details for the Jinglemad Jingle Day 2014 [as heard on Jinglemad Radio].

It's in Portsmouth on June 21st (but that happily extends between June 20th - 22nd for the real hardcore).

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

We are in the process of arranging some VIP guests, guest speakers, a visit to Portsmouth's heritage radio station, fun activities and... er... other stuff.

It would be great to know that you've marked that weekend clear in your diary for pure, unadulterated jingle anorakism. Please show your intention to attend by registering on this page.

Keep listening to Jinglemad Radio for more information and we'll continue to post information here.

JingleDay1 by radioresponse

If you're unsure, basically it's a weekend of friends, beer and jingles. Anything else is a bonus.

Keep an eye out on Twitter for #JingleDay

For those without Quicktime, I've put the audio on Soundcloud, but the accompanying explanation on Bob's site.

New Ken R Jingle Sampler Available Thu, 17 Jul 2014 23:12:28 +0100 johnquincy 10060@/index.php?p=/discussions
Ken says, "This sampler is divided into five parts, and the first four contain selections from companies in both Los Angeles and Dallas. In fact, section four features Tom Merriman singing and playing the piano in an ode to 'Big D.' Section five was recorded at JAM and features four male singers (identified at the end) sight-reading a vocal chart written by the late Mike Sankovich, a friend of mine."]]>
