WFAA-TV Hansen Style from 1994
  • I went looking for something else and found this. Like many TV stations we have a boisterous sports anchor, Dale Hansen.
He's been with us for almost 30 years and has an opinion on everything. We branded him as doing "sports, Hansen Style,"
introducing the concept back in the early 1990's (back when the Dallas Cowboys were good).

We were always looking for something to set Dale apart and at the time we were working with a local writer, the late Jake Pittman. We had done a gospel choir version of this idea, now it was time to explore the blues.

Jake created the track with a hot rhythm section and on guitars the late Bugs Henderson and a young Andy Timmons. Jim Glass, who now is responsible for marketing and promotion stumbled across a CD by a Louisiana/Chicago blues artist named Lonnie Brooks which we both liked a lot. So we called Alligator Records (his label) in Chicago and asked to borrow him for the jingle. The basic tracks were done at Sound Southwest in Dallas and the vocal was cut at CRC in Chicago.

Jake was a good writer, a good guy so this is posted in tribute to him, one of the go to behind the scenes people you never hear about in Dallas.

    This cut rocks.
