hi there, just wanted some jingle suggestions from some JM'ers! On wednesday, i'm going on a road trip from Southern Cal, all the way to Gulfport, MS. so basically i'm doing California, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Louisiana, and then our final destination in MS. so, any good stations with jingles in those areas? I know KOOL and KLUV already, any other good suggestions? any stations would be fine, but i'd much prefer a station with some dallas material. i'll be streaming as i move from state to state, and post a montage of cuts when i arrive back to california.
don't know if i'll be heading towards merced, but if I can catch k97, then yes, i'll see. what i can remember, is we go through to victorville. Now I know KFRG dropped thompson a while back, and switched to RW1. i think blieth is the last city before Arizona. mom's getting a wifi hot spot for our computers, so i can update.
What route are you taking across New Mexico? Would love to hear some KKOB from Albuquerque and also KSMX from Clovis (if you're going off the beaten track!)
i believe we're starting from the sonora area, going through to the clovis, but i'm going through the amarillo area. so i guess we're going through to clovis if amarillo gets through there.
nice montage paul! I love the parts from the flying, cool 101.9 is still in Springfield, IL using TGP, same package, nothing changed. KBQA is now KRKE Kool 107.5, simulcasting from albuquerque's KRKE 1600, KRST is RW1, at least you got to know what you got when you get through "da hood" as they say, and, as we all know, WCBS-FM has gone back to classic hits with jam jingles to boot, but for how long? if you had got KONO or KOMA, that would've taken it right there!
OK, i know i won't catch k97.5, however, paul, you'll get your wish, you will hear KSMX, and KKOB, same for you juan! I also had a request for KCDD, you might hear a little, if we pass through abilene, although i doubt it.
glen, also, once part 2 gets up, be prepared for some serious dallas in states, including louisiana! in fact, louisiana is nothing but dallas, with the exception of maybe 1 or 2.
here we go! here is part 2 of the road trip! and, like i said, stayed tuned, because the rest of this will be later in the summer, or mid fall. i have other projects i'm doing. but this goes from arizona to Mississippi. enjoy!
in the next 3 or 4 weeks, its back to work! just to give you guys a heads up, part 3 focusses on mississippi, the area we are, also goes to the northern part, near jackson, and a couple of surrounding states. alabama and florida to be exact, also does the reverse route home, in part 4, and part 5 you'll love, because you'll hear some of what i would've heard if i had went across to other states. cities like denver, Forrest city, Oklahoma City, omaha, Jefferson City, Nashville, Atlanta, and more!
i decided to get back to work now. and, even though it didn't really happen, i decided to turn this montage around! I was thinking of adding JC in this montage, for when we arrive in florida, and let him join in on the way back to MS, and let him see my hometown, and then part 5 is the part that's really gonna be in the fun catigory. it's still apart of the road trip series. I decided to change the title of part 5. instead of states i might have gone to, i'm inviting all of my jingle mad friends on this part, called "jingle mad: an american tour!" if you guys would like to pitch in with airchecks, and/or voicework/voiceovers, let me know here on the forums. it goes like this, after we unload my family, with the exception of JC, we head to LA, where after we get off the freeway, i'll pick you guys up, and load up the huge tour van. yes, jeffro, you'll be in it, barras, carman, whoever wants to join in on the Jingle Mad American Tour (part 5), you're welcome to join in!
update! final part should be up in a matter of weeks! and, the van for the J-M-A-T is setting its course for across america! anyone want to join the tour group, please RSVP. you won't need money, tickets, or a heavy suitcase! all you need is a laptop/microphone and your voices, plus some stream recorders!
well, i finally completed the trip, this includes from bama to FLA, and parts back home. i cut it down a little, because i'm doing the tour. so all repeats aren't there.
Hi Wixy, I'm downloading it now via Dropbox. I didn't need a password, I just clicked on the Download box - top right-hand corner of the page, but maybe I'm seeing something that you can't(?) :-? . It's 117 mbs and is taking ages (still 20 mins remaining after 5 mins) - but my Broadband connection is very slow at the moment.
I can't download it either. I think you would have to sign up for that Dropbox service to get it? :(
Oh, you have to download the software too, which I can't do at the moment. But I think you could upload the files to the web account? Just signed up for the service so I could download the file that Tyrone provided...
GOT IT! Copy and paste the link to your browser, go to Download, and if you're signed up for the service, you have the option to direct download or add to Dropbox. When I copied and pasted the link, the icon for Tyrone's MP3 file showed up, so maybe that's what you're missing....
For the record I chose the Direct Download link and for some reason it went through.
