  • Love the WAXY cut from TM's Your Custom Combination.

Yes, I love that WAXY cut as well. Never heard the RKO part at the beginning before though :-)
  • Now didn't County Sound do a cheeky version of the "RKO" bit on the front of a couple of their JAM Premier Radio cuts?
  • Yes Iain, you're right - I have at least one that sings - "A County Sound Radio Station" followed by - "96.4FM Premier Radio".
  • Some stations we're doing that in the mid 80s in the USA. Malrite, Nationwide Communications and RKO were all proud of their group owned stations.
  • "A County Sound Radio Station"

Please flip over to Marc's WNBC / syndication thread for some audio of their resings of the package.

Or TM Full Force Cuts with lyrics "The Chiltern Network - Northants 96".

Smooth Radio used to have a Top of the Hour ident that used to end "A Guardian Media Station".

i knew Nationwide and RKO, well, for RKO owned, only WAXY showed that in their jingles, nationwide, of course, but which station used their broadcaster in their toh or other jingles? I only knew malrite was voiced over, and what other jingles used that.

That acappella front used to blast through the radio, loudly announcing RKO and starting each hour. I always remembered that cut and wondered who produced it until I found the WAXY master...
