Does anyone have any more info on these 80's jingles for Fox FM Melbourne, or even a better quality dub? I downloaded them about 8/9 years ago and have always quite liked them. They are credited to Mike Brady Music, who I'm presuming is this guy:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mike_Brady_(musician)I should warn that they were original a very low quality real file, and possibly not to everyone's taste! foxfm_melbourne.mp3

Bloody Hell Rob!!!!!!!!!! A rare jingle blast from the past!In 1986 I got a tape in direct from Fox FM 101.9 Melbourne (...its a long story, ask BossJock, Martin Lester, and barrydavidallen!) and thats from the same packages, one dated to 1986 and one an earlier package. The earlier package was "very 1980s" sort of New Romantics era synth-y type punchy stuff - attached is a very rough sample. The 1986 ones were a bit bland compared with the earlier ones. The reel is still here, and is on my list of "repair & digitally-restore" Round-Tuit projects! Some very distinctive cuts that I'd very much like to be able to play again some day.At least after all these years I now know who made them - thanks! ij-foxfm-nunawadding-1984maybe.mp3

Glad I could take you back Iain! It's a package I'd really like hear in better quality, so if you ever manage to digitise the tape I'd love a copy.I'd imagine that sung jingles for this Fox FM are quite rare, with the Australian radio industry seeming to favour exclusively spoken ID's?I'm also intrigued by this "long story"!

In Oz they went very strange after the PAMS/TMP era, with a near-obsession for "making jingles in Australia for Australia".Somewhere I might still have remnants of the things they did for 6KY and others in the early 1970s; also I've various outher "bits" fom the 1980s which I've occasionally "inflicted" in part upon JM - some of that stuff is like nothing that Dallas would ever have done.Mr Barras has got some interesting Australian demos somewhere, but I'd rather he posted them rather than me doing it!As for Fox FM, I would like to get this tape restored eventually, and if I do you'll certainly be on for dub!Anyone got a still-working Ferro' or Revox that they could flog me for a pittance?!?!!"...favour exclusively spoken ID's?"The Fox tape has some female-voiced summer sweepers that absolutely ooze out of the radio! At the time of the tape, the "three-letter-FMs" were a fairly new thing to Australian commercial radio, most being AM stations with an FM sibling.
