Here are the original KOST jingles as used on Warm 94.9 FM for the first time in the trading circuit.

I was on the air on this station from 96-99 and dubbed them onto to a high quality cassette at the time direct from the JAM master.

If anyone has any classic JAM packages they'd like to share as a result of this offering, I'd be very receptive.

Questions about The History of Radio Luxembourg (208) Jingles http://jinglemad.com/index.php?p=/discussion/9660/questions-about-the-history-of-radio-luxembourg-208-jingles Thu, 05 Sep 2013 13:05:52 +0100 petewilson 9660@/index.php?p=/discussions Can anyone list the Jingle Companies used in its glorious history?
I can only name a few (70's/80's/90's)
PAMS (?)
Mark Wesley Productions
Way Audio (CPMG)
Tuesday Productions
George Acogny
Standard Sound/MMI

I think I'm right in thinking proper Jingles didn't start until the early 1960's with the "Colourful Radio Luxembourg" Package (UK Produced?)and ended with the "Digital Radio Luxembourg" Package in 1991 by MMI

Jon (or anyone in the know) Did JAM make a pitch to Luxembourg at anytime?

Did the MMI (Final Package) ever get re-sung for anybody else?

Just a few questions that came bouncing back to the front of my mind......... @-)

I am in need of a little help. I need to know the producers, package names and years for the samples featured via the link. If anyone can help me that would be great! - My public email is trade@lindenwade.com (If you would prefer to mail me) :) This is so they can be correctly named on my Hard Drive instead of "Track 01" etc.

Thanks in advance!

I've called them 'drop ins' but maybe they were called something else but they weren't really classed as jingles because I don't they were part of the packages, they're just the odd voice or fx saying things like, "and now, back to the music"]]>
The 25th Anniversary of GEM-AM http://jinglemad.com/index.php?p=/discussion/9707/the-25th-anniversary-of-gem-am Thu, 03 Oct 2013 19:45:25 +0100 LenGroat 9707@/index.php?p=/discussions
At its most successful GEM-AM had 23-24% 'weekly reach'. Of course you cannot compare that figure to the 3% to 10% many of today's syndicated stations get, but you CAN compare how they SOUND, and I'm really saddened that the vast majority of UK radio is managed so badly, by just a few financially motivated 'suits' - it is NOT all about 'branding' and money!

Amazingly, we were able to re-create the magic in November 2012 with SolidGoldGem because of the technical wizardy of a few individuals (who prefer to be anonymous) but also we had dj’s who from the original GEM that inspired the new station – Krissi Carpenter, Andy ‘Marrow’ Marriott, Paul Burbank, Craig Strong, Danny Cox, and our late colleague Brian Tansley. We now also have professionals from other former ILR stations, who understand what “Radio Like It Used To Be” is all about.

OUR first anniversary is on 5th November and our second year will be even better than our first as we are now to licence a further package of the original JAM jingles I lyriced for GEM-AM (one below) and have some classic PAMS ones re-sung as well!

A station is only as good as it's jingles?

I think so !

Thank you (the 25 years older) Len Groat

And here's a great example: 'The Grot', made for Nottingham Hospital Radio by none other than radio guru David Lloyd:

Enjoy, as they say.

This was later replaced with another bit of music - a more laid back jazz-funk kind of tune. I'm trying to find out what it was - anybody remember?]]>
