Now 35 years later..I think it's time to order another Custom from JAM.....
I don't want to go for a cut that everybody else has but I do want a cut from the hey day of Radio One or Two (7 voice)
I then thought Hey those great PAMS Cuts that Radio One had between 1972 and 1976..Nobodys had any of them customised.....
I've just listened to them all and they really are quite awful and thank God Jon came along just at the right time and rescued both Radio One and Two! =D>
So now its back to the drawing board and try to choose a "nice" cut from either the Radio One or Two Early JAM Packages!

Hey Ho.........]]>

Radio London 206...Susie Barnes by Cuckmere_Haven
And secondly, a Mike Sparrow jingle (I only ever heard this played during BBC Radio London's last ever programme in 1988 by Susie Barnes to annoy her co-presenter Mike Sparrow as he hated this particular jingle!)
Radio London 206...Mike Sparrow by Cuckmere_Haven

There has been a lot of argument over the years as to which company produced them. I am still convinced that they were produced by Syd Dale's Amphonic Music Company. The reason for this is that the mid 1970s BBC Radio Medway 'On the Medway Band' package was produced by Amphonic Music as confirmed by an interview with Syd Dale which you can hear on his son Ian's website:
(I listened to this a couple of years ago but can't get it to play on my computer at the moment for some reason - perhaps you might have better luck). There was a Time Check jingle within this Medway package and the music bed for this appeared a short time later in BBC Radio London's 1976 'All For You' package as the backing for their Christmas jingle:

Happy Christmas 206 (long) by Cuckmere_Haven
You will notice the tick tock in the music bed as opposed to the usual sleigh bells etc that you would expect on a Christmas jingle. The words 'Happy Christmas 206' were replaced by 'Medway Time Check 290' on the Medway version.
I can't upload the Medway version at present as I have yet to locate it on an unmarked cassette along with various other Medway jingles. Only 11 out of around 75 cuts from the 'On the Medway Band' package appear to be in circulation on the Internet so it would be wonderful if one day, some kind person with access to the master tapes could upload the complete package (I am sure the masters are still in existence in various locations).

I'm thinking specifically cuts 6 and cut 9. I can place cut 6 with lyrics similar to this - The One And Only One For You, County Sound, I'm thinking County Sound 2. I cant place cut 9 but I definitely recognize it.

I thought Ken R only did PAMS and his own stuff ? I'd be interested to know what was going on here ?

I found these and thought I'd share on SoundCloud as the quality is very good...
Some of the Emison (or is it Paddy Kingsland?) Jingles from the late 1970's and a few from the early 1980's package........

Unlike US Jingle History and referencing I can't ask the likes of Jon, Tracy, Ken about this piece of UK Jingle History and can't think of anybody equivalent over here with the same Knowledge......
Does anybody on here have any info about these packages and any of the others that BBC Radio London (and Medway) had before the Alfasound days or better still copies of any of the packages used pre-Alfasound.
I assume they had (at least) TWO Sang Packages before Alfasound if not more..... :-?

Anyway here they are.......Enjoy!

The full demo of the WOWO "We'll Make Your Day" package is now online at the JAM website for the first time in stereo.

It' a nice adult-AC package for a heritage station, and I think it captures key elements of the "early 80's JAM sound" nicely.

Help with KABL (San Francisco) jingles please http://jinglemad.com/index.php?p=/discussion/9942/help-with-kabl-san-francisco-jingles-please Thu, 24 Apr 2014 14:35:20 +0100 LenGroat 9942@/index.php?p=/discussions
I'm guessing KABL had many jingle packages over the years; the ones used in the 90s sounded 'big bandy' like 60s/70s PAMS (not from a numbered set), or maybe JAM, but I'm guessing not TM? Maybe A.N. Other company?

KABL is now back on the Internet but automated using promos with original dj voices and just a few (great) jingles. Can anyone please help me identify the package(s) - there is one cut 'KABL - Your Station of the starrrrs" which is superb.

Thanks ~ Len]]>
